Paul Behrens is an author and academic in environmental change at Leiden University. His popular science book, The Best of Times, The Worst of Times: Futures from the Frontiers of Climate Science, describes humanity’s possible futures in paired chapters of pessimism and hope. He co-edited and wrote an interdisciplinary textbook, Food and Sustainability, published by Oxford University Press. Paul’s work on science communication has appeared in The New York Times, Scientific American and the BBC.

Emma Must lives in Belfast. Her poem ‘Toll’ won the Environmental Defenders Prize in the 2019 Ginkgo Prize for Ecopoetry and is included in Out of Time: Poetry From the Climate Emergency (Valley Press, July 2021), a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation. Formerly a full-time environmental activist, she was awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize for Europe in 1995 on behalf of the UK anti-roads movement. She has recently completed a PhD in English (Creative Writing) at Queen’s focusing on ecopoetry and ecocriticism.

Andrea Montgomery is a bilingual Delhi-born Canadian, writer and director who founded Terra Nova, Ireland’s dedicated intercultural theatre company, in 2007. Her practice features in academic writing from Galway to Melbourne. She has been shortlisted for the National Diversity Awards, the National Campaign for the Arts Awards and the Nick Darke Environmental Writing Awards. Andrea has advocated for the environment and clean water all her life.
